AdBlue Repair in Vantaa

An AdBlue warning — or a 'no start in XXX km' countdown — can't be ignored. The car will eventually refuse to start at all.

Don't keep driving with the warning on — the start-lockout usually kicks in after 1 000 km and you won't get the car going on your own.

When AdBlue repair is needed

The SCR system on diesel cars injects AdBlue solution into the exhaust so that nitrogen oxides are converted into harmless nitrogen and water. It's a complex, sensitive system — and a fault can cause both a start-lockout and an MOT failure. Repair is due when: the AdBlue or engine warning is on, the dashboard shows 'no start in XXX km', the car refuses to start, AdBlue consumption has risen, emissions fail the MOT, or performance has dropped. The fault can be mechanical (sensor, pump, injector) or software-based.

Why does the AdBlue system fail?

The most common causes are NOx sensors reaching end-of-life (typically 150 000–200 000 km), AdBlue solution crystallising inside the injector or pump in cold weather, and heater elements failing. Volkswagen Group, Mercedes-Benz and BMW all have their own typical failure modes — we know them and can fix them. Poor-quality AdBlue, or filling the tank with anything other than ISO 22241 compliant fluid, can also destroy the system.
