Diagnostics
How we diagnose Tesla engine faults
First we isolate the root cause, then we choose the repair. That avoids unnecessary parts and makes the estimate reliable.
Brand-specific fault-code and live-data check
We start with diagnostics matched to Front Drive Unit, Rear Drive Unit (Permanent Magnet), Dual Motor AWD engines. Fault codes and live data are compared against the symptom so we separate an electrical issue from mechanical damage before ordering parts.
Compression, leak-down and pressure tests
If the symptom points to a fault such as front/rear drive unit bearing noise, we measure compression, leak-down and coolant or boost pressure. That confirms whether the fault is in the head, timing system, piston rings or an ancillary component.
Endoscope and visual inspection
When needed, we inspect the cylinders with an endoscope, check leaks, carbon build-up and crankcase ventilation, then document the findings before you approve the repair.
